Apple Fruit -
Aromas and Flavors of Wine

Apples have been around just about as long as mankind has. Dried apples have been found in the most primitive of caves. Apples were well known to the Chinese, to the Greeks, Romans and Egyptians. Apples were even reputed to be in the Garden of Eden - but in actuality the original Bible doesn't say it was an apple that Eve ate. It was just a "forbidden fruit". It was later translators who stuck the apple in that spot and gave it a bad reputation.

Apples come in many varieties, from tart green apples to sweet, rich red apples.

The Wines with Apple Flavor

A popular wine that often has apple flavors in it is Chardonnay. You can also find Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, and Viognier that have crisp, apple flavors.

From France, Muscadet has a gentle apple flavor.
