Black Currant Fruit -
Aromas and Flavors of Wine

Black currants are small, black fruits the size of raisins that grow on shrubs. The black currant originally came from Europe and northern Russia, and is traditionally used in jellies and jams. The liqueur Cassis is made in France from black currants.

The Wines with Black Currant Flavor

Black Currant is a primary flavor found in Cabernet Sauvignon. Port also has flavors of black currant.
