California Wine Shipping Laws
California is one of the most widely recognized wine producers in the world. Spanish priests brought vines to this location hundreds of years ago. There was a pause in winemaking during prohibition, but once it was repealed, wine production took off.
Most people know about the Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley wines, but wines can be found in many different regions of California.
As you might imagine, California was very open to the idea of wine shipments. As of 2006 they do allow wine shipments directly to consumers, with no volume limits. This is about as open a situation as a wine drinker could hope for!
Let me know if you have any fresh information about Californian wine shipping laws! If you have recently had wine shipped in to you here, please let me know how smoothly the experience went. Often the laws say one thing, but FedEx and UPS say another!
