Connecticut - US Wine Shipping Laws
To find law information in CT, Use this search link. In general, you can ship in under 5 gallons of wine every 60 days for personal use. Connecticut is nice in the sense that it has a Complete Web Page on IP99(37) - exactly how to ship wine into the state. It lays out how much you can drive in with you, what forms are required to ship wine in, and so on. Of course, the fact that you have to use forms (filled out in advance) is slightly annoying, but at least shipment is possible. In 1998, HB5536 tried to make CT a reciprocal state. It bogged down.
HB6441, in 1999
Sec. 2. (NEW) Any person who ships into this state any package or carton containing alcoholic liquor shall, for each offense, be fined not more than one thousand dollars or imprisoned not more than one year or both, unless (1) the contents of such package or carton are clearly marked on the outside of such package or carton, and (2) such person conditions delivery of such alcoholic liquor upon the signature of an individual who is (A) at least twenty-one years of age, or (B) legally authorized to receive such alcoholic liquor under the provisions of chapter 545 of the general statutes.
