Indiana Wine Shipping Laws

Indiana is very cold to be making wine. Does anybody know of any wineries in Indiana?

Indiana passed a law in 2006 which said a given person can receive up to 24 cases a year of wine. The problem here is that wineries who ship a 25th case to a person would be legally liable for that shipment - but they have no way of knowing if a person has already received 24 cases from a completely different winery. Therefore some wineries are willing to "chance it" and ship in wine - while other wineries steer clear of Indiana because the law is too vague.

Hopefully they'll redo this law so that it makes more sense and talks about getting in 24 cases from a GIVEN winery instead of 24 cases from ANY winery!

Let me know if you have any fresh information about Indiana wine shipping laws! If you have recently had wine shipped in to you here, please let me know how smoothly the experience went. Often the laws say one thing, but FedEx and UPS say another!
