Wyoming - US Wine Shipping Laws

No Wine Shipments In a country that produces Napa Valley Chardonnays, Washington Rieslings, Long Island Cabernets and great wines from almost every other state, it can be a felony to ship one of these wines between two states. The laws are different for every single state. What are the Wyoming laws?

Wyoming is a state where alcohol can only be purchased through state-run stores. The Wine Spectator claims that it is currently illegal to ship wine in from out of state ... the Wine Institute says "Individual may bring or ship in up to 3 liters tax free. (¶7071)(Wyoming Liquor Comm. Reg. Chapter VI §2)." I have scoured the on line records and can't find that it is illegal, but I will continue looking to find out for sure one way or another.

Currently, House Bill 205 is being looked at as a way to allow wine to be shipped into the state. The matching Senate Bill 22 is about the same. The Revenue Committee is looking into these bills and should be taking action on them sometime in December 2000.

UPDATE!!
As of 2009 it appears Wyoming can now direct ship in wines! Note that this page is no longer being updated. Please visit the Wyoming Shipping Laws Page for the latest up to date information!
