Pizza and Wine - Wine Food Pairings

It's amazing how popular pizza is. It's pretty healthy for you, too! It has vegetables, bread, dairy and even meat, depending on what you get on top. It's fresh and warm and relatively inexpensive. Everyone from the kids to the grandparents love it! What wine goes well with pizza?

Tomato sauce has a heavy flavor so red wines go best to hold up to that. Your best reds are -
* Cabernet Sauvignon
* Cabernet Franc
* Chianti
* Merlot
* Rioja

If I'm feeling "authentic" I'll go with the Chianti since it's from Italy, just like pizza :)
