Along certain rivers in England, there are Bronze Age burnt stone mounds. These were used to heat water for reasons archaeologists are not sure of.
Some say for cooking; sonme think that they were used for washing ~ possibly ritial washing; some think that they were related to sweat lodges as in Native American culture. Possibly there were a mixture of reasons.
