Lisa I agree, for 99 cents it's worth it and what else can you buy or that these days? A friend of my daughter was always using another supposedly 'free safe site' but lost her computer to a virus.

My favorite is 50's-80's rock and roll. I hate Rap. I do not care what you say, there is no real musical value to it, at least yet to me.
I also like the blues, jazz and classical.

I agree with getlow. Rap is not music at all.

As for what music I like, my favorites are punk and classical lol. I know that's not a likely combination, but it's the truth.

I haven't been to many concerts, just a few with my dad to see Phil and Friends;my dad loves The Grateful Dead! I think they're alright, but certainly not the best.

Yes getlow you're 101% correct about rap. I dislike it immensely, it's not music at all.

I'm not keen on rap, either, but I suppose it's a case of 'each to his / her own'. Music is such a personal thing.

It represents different things to different people. For example; some think that it should make a statement. Others think that it should soothe and entertain. There is unlikely to be an overlap there. Of course, some people like different music in different situations.

For teenagers, in particular, music is often a representation of how they are feeling, what they are doing and what they want - and for most, it has to be different from what their parents and the rest of society enjoy.

I'm afraid rap and music in my book doesn't go together. But as PDM states, each to his own.

About the only rap I've ever taken a slight interest in is the latest by Will Smith as that actually has music in the background.

My favorite muscians are Nanci Griffith, Emmylou Harris, The Beatles, John Prine, Allison Krauss, The Rolling Stones, Linda Ronstadt. But Nanci Griffith is my hands down fav!

It's interesting that a lot of teenagers reject the music that their parents like.

I actually like the music my parents played - Nat King Cole, Glenn Miller, Doris Day, Johnny Ray, etc, plus music from the musicals, like Singin' in the Rain; South Pacific; Brigadoon; Easter Parade; Oklahoma; Seven Brides ..., etc.
