I know we all remember our first love song ( well fellas you had better for if your partners ask you if they read this) but what about other songs, the lyrics og which , have made a difference in your life or meant some thing. For me there have been many throughout the years. to me the words are that we can be feeling sorry for ourselves and hard done by with nowhere to turn, all we have to do is look around us to see we are surrounded by friends and love who are willing to help and support us, all we have to do is reach down intoit he river to quench our thirst.

For me? It was Solisbury Hill. I went through a time in my life where the Universe and everyone in it kept smacking down - I couldn't catch a break if I'd paid someone a million bucks to give me one. . . and I remember driving home from work late one night and hearing it on the radio. It's now my anthem.

two songs stand out from around 1967 era for no other reason that they " enlightened" me to groups or music outside of the more established groups The Beatles, Stones etc. 1967 was also my first year of freedom away from the home enviorment the songs were
A whiter shade of pale by Procol Harum
and
Nights in White satin by the Moody blues

One song that really had an affect on me was "What if She's an Angel" by Tommy ??? I forget his last name. It's a country song that talks about angels of course. That your next door neighbor could be an angel testing us to see how well we help one another.

Aaaahhh the late 70s for me were just the best..a great Irish punk band called Stiff Little Fingers...they could do no wrong..and they are still going thou the only origanial member are Jake Burns and Ali McMordie..Stands to Reason was and is still a song that means alot..its all about questioning what your told is the truth by the media and such like...
Also like Celine Dions..I'm Alive..its a great pick me up song..

I forgot one..Beautiful by Christina Agulera...i was going throu the toughest time..and my son bought it for me..still cry evey time i hear it no matter where i am..just because Carl knew what i was going throu and the words just said what he could'nt.
