idea # 2 ok before jesus took away all sin how did ne one go to heaven? it said noone could go to heaven without a pure blood which was jesus and then it also said everyone sinned so that made moses a sinner as well but that was before jesus so how did moses able to go to heaven did he sneak in? god play favorties ?
...heres another thing if incest was such a hugh sin then when god made adam and eve and eve bared 2 sons ..... and it didnt say nothing else about god creating ne more people then who ... was their wife and where did they come from ? did they have a affair with there mom so their mom can bear daughters and they married their sisters ... ...have a nice day? [/b]Dude you just hit 2 of the questions on my list. I have a list of stuff I want to ask God when I get to heaven. Things I've taken time to try and read up on, but haven't found answers to. Things like why put the tree there to begin with? Where did Cain's wife come from? What really happened to the dinosaurs? Is there life on other planets, and if not why? I've come to the realization that I can't know everything. But my faith, has been built up by the things I can know. As a result I haven't stopped looking for answers, but not knowing doesn't bother me as much. I know that's not much of an answer, but if we knew it all then we'd be God. My only request is that you keep looking, keep searching for God, and he will make himself known to you. Mostly everyone here seems to be looking for something, even if you can't admit it. The questions everyone keeps asking atleast shows openess to thought, and for that I'm happy.

To me, alot of this comes down to the question of acts of absolute good.
I like to think that I do "good deeds" (nothing major, but general kindness towards others). I do this because it "feels right" to me. Some would say that the pleasure I get in doing these good deeds means that the acts themselves are not "absolute goods". However, I think they are pretty close.
I can't help but question those who say they do "good deeds" in Jesus's name. Is that the only reason you do it? Because Jesus said so? Would you not do it otherwise? If you only do a good deed because Jesus preached it, and not because it fundamentally seemed right to you - that seems a little further away from "absolute good".
I'm not even talking about the whole doing good deeds to get into heaven, since we have clearly stated that you cannot buy your way into heaven. Of course, then there's the whole thing about "looking righteous"... like you can tell which people are destined for heaven by their actions (or fruit..)

If you only do a good deed because Jesus preached it, and not because it fundamentally seemed right to you - that seems a little further away from "absolute good". Everyone is born w/a conscience. Everyone knows what the right thing to do is. Everyone knows what good deeds are. To act on them is the question. Jesus told us to "love our enemies". "Bless those that persecute you." THAT'S the hard part. Blessing someone EVEN THOUGH they did something to hurt you. Loving your enemy enough to die for them. Not many people can do that. When Jesus talked about loving your neighbor, He meant everyone, not just the ones who do good for you or who love you or who are "nice" people. He meant everyone. That includes the murderers, rapists, pedophiles, etc. We can't pick & choose who we're going to do "good deeds" for. That's one of the messages that Jesus was sending while He was here.
