Thanks much for your post, Mrs JF.
***Another despicable story -- My sister & her partner have been raising her partner's daughters for the past 5 years, with NO help from the daughter's father. The father is against this partnership & actively speaks out against it, trying to turn the daughter's against their own mother. But, the father keeps moving to avoid paying support & bothers w/his girls when it's convenient for him. Now the despciable part is that if anything would happen to my sister's partner, HE would automatically gain custody of these 2 girls, even though my sister is the one who has been an active parent in their lives & is the one who's there every day, helping them w/their homework, talking to them about boy problems, friend problems, making them dinner, etc., etc. etc. She's going to have to get a WILL written in order to guarantee her place in their lives.***
Yes, that IS despicable. And it raises the question: what is better for a child -- to be raised by two loving same sex partners or two parents who are bitterly and violently at each others' throats all the time? Is it better to have the male-female role models even if they're toxic vs. a loving homosexual couple because they are same sex?
Now I don't HAVE kids, so maybe I'm not qualified to answer, but I know people who do, and I remember BEING a kid, so on that basis, I vote for the loving couple.

This is a discussion forum and we discuss. Discussion means not everybody is going to agree with you. Nobody here has slammed your faith, but it seems that you rely on this bogus persecution complex as your “get out of jail free” card whenever you are caught making bigoted, ignorant or judgmental comments.

As for black people no that's just ignorant. You see captn a black man is still that a black MAN, they are different from white people in pigment only.
I know. Gay men are also just men. What’s your point?

Now on to this hereditary thing. In my humble opinion, homosexuality, if indeed passed as a genetic trait, or a series of traits, by evolution's own definition would be a massive failure. Those traits or combinations of traits would die out within the generation that they manifest themselves in.
I have no idea how it works. It could be a recessive gene. There are thousands of possible explanations, I don’t know. There are many things we don’t know about human sexuality. The fact that homosexuality is an inborn trait and not a choice is scientifically established, however.
Yes, the urge can be repressed, but the question then is why would you want to repress it.
I said earlier that if you happen to belong to a culture or sect that has taboos about it, then you would have a reason to repress it, but otherwise you wouldn’t.
I’m not going to discuss whether your God thinks it’s bad or good, you know more about that than I do. It’s completely meaningless to somebody that doesn’t ascribe to your particular religion anyway.
Objectively, however, smoking and drinking are self destructive behaviours.
Womanizing can be destructive to your family and stable relationships, if you have these.
Promiscuity can be risky, healthwise, but that risk can be mitigated through the use of prophylactics, etc.
Homosexual behaviour, in and of itself, is not objectively harmful or self-destructive, so why should the people who harbor that instinct feel any more obligated to repress it than you do to repress your heterosexuality or your cravings for pizza or Diet Coke?
