There is a program called FCA in schools and recently, Ive been asked to think of some topics for the kids to discuss. I have no idea why but I said what the heck. Maybe something easy to understand. Also, any scriptures will do. I am looking some things up but maybe yall can help me out. wink Thanks a bunch!

I have one. Maybe you can talk about why the FCA is even allowed in public schools.

Here's another: Why do Christian athletes have a need to form a "fellowship?" Aren't there enough Christian organizations out there already?

How come there isn't a FJA or a FMA? Aren't any Jews and Muslims athletes too?

And perhaps there should be a FAA for the athiests as well.

Or maybe a FBA for the black students?

That should give them plenty to discuss.

Hi Starchick. smile
If you have a look at the topics that we are discussing, you will find enough material to last for some time!

thanks! I have been looking around. and mbas, calm down! I was just looking for some topic discussions, not an argument! I know quite a few kids that arent christians or athletes in FCA. Theres a little indian boy in there too. All are invited to come to FCA, not only Christian Athletes. FCA is not church so that is why it is allowed into schools. Why they call it FCA, I don't know but its not only for Christian Athletes. smile

Then let's start a movement to DROP the word Christian from the organization and STOP treating other athletes like second class citizens in your organization.

Do they have a prayer to Jesus at the meetings?

Why would anyone who wasn't a Christian want to be a part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes?

I'm not really sure why. I suppose that the Indian boy wants God to be in his life. Maybe thats why he went to the meeting. I think it's a neat experience for the kids and I didn't mean to start an argument with you mbas so any further arguments you may post I will ignore. cool

God to be in his life or Jesus to be in his life?

According to most people in the world there is a difference.

Jews are very happy with just God, they don't need a Jesus.

Yet the organization is called Fellowship of CHRISTIAN Athletes, not Fellowship of DEIST Athletes.

Oh by the way everyone who has posted here, I think I have found a good topic! I think it will do fine. Iv'e also helped them pick out an activity. It's how bullying crushes people emotionally. Iv'e got a scripture somewhere about something like that. There will be somemore FCA meetings though, so post if you can!

Quote:
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is touching millions of lives... one heart at a time. Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ. FCA is the largest Christian sports organization in America. FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ.

Their Statement of Faith:
Quote:
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

We believe that there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men (women) regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
How this religious organization is even allowed in schools is beyond me. I think I'll call someone at the ACLU and have them look into it.

Why anyone who is not a fundamentalist Christian would want to be a part of this organization is beyond me, especially "Indian" boys.
