Oh no I am so sorry to hear that.If you only had her 3 weeks it could of been something she already had like you said.I hope the others are o.k.Is jewel missing her?
Thank you Sylv. I can't tell.. Jewel is usually noisy anyway. I took his cage and sterilized it and everything in it. The rest appear fine. I will get the next one from the Bird Store and not from a pet supply store. Should I wait or get another one right away?
it's hard to tell with lovebirds, they did stay on top of each other all the time. Jewel got mad at Sherbet after she got sick and wouldn't preen him. She would try to get by herself but he would follow her. I call them he/she but I really have no idea. Peachfaced look the same
Well it is entirely up to you but I think once a bird bonds with it's partner they do miss them and can become very unhappy when they are suddenly gone.I would consider getting another but you have to be carefull incase there is something your birds may have caught from sherbet or incase the new bird is carrying anything.Or you could wait and see how things go with jewel for a little while.It is a choice you have to make.I really am sorry about what has happened.How long have you had jewel?
4 weeks.The reason I got Sherbet was that Jewel was lonely. He saw the Keets together and would try and get out to go in their cage. When ever the cages were on the floor he would go in theirs and have himself a seat. Now that I have moved them out of here I don't think they like it. I would talk to them all day and they could see me and "talk" to me.
well in that case I think I would get jewel another partner.Just be carefull about spreading germs.Well it might not of been the smoke that made sherbet ill but still try not to smoke around the others incase it was.I have to go out now i will be back later to chat.
