Today, my dog injured a baby dove. Fireants were swarming it and i quickly brushed them off. (I regret that now because of the bite marks!) I had an eyedropper and offered it water. The poor thing could barely stand. I felt so helpless because I knew nothing of what these birds eat. The game warden had moved to Colorado so i couldn't ask them for help. the vets couldnt do anything either, nor any of my neighbors. The poor bird died an hour ago. I know quite a bit on parakeets but on wild birds, im stumped so if anyone could give me tips on doves or any other wild birds, for example, what they eat, what they should stay away from, etc. i would be grateful if any of you guys gave me tips just in cas this happens again and then i would know what to do and not feel helpless.

Oh, that is sad Starchick. I'm sorry that happened. Don't feel bad though, it was just an accident and you did what you could do. Atleast you cared enough to worry about it and tried to revive it. Feel better. ♥

I think it's pretty safe to say that you can feed just plain ol' seed to any wild birds...

But what do the baby birds eat? I mean the babies that have not yet been able to eat solid food?
