Jloc, I so didn't picture you as a APC/Tool type

YEah I guess I don't seem like that when I'm here, I have always been a rockstar in my head, I've been in many bands and usually played the guitar and sung. I like a ton of bands including everything form Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Disturbed, Social D, Linkin Park, Korn, Seether, Audioslave and a ton more. I also like some rap and other stuff, I usually won't base what I like by the genre it is, more by how well the artist is.

But Tool and A Perfect Circle are my fav by far, the music from both is amazing, being a guitarist you can really appreciate how well they play and how crazy difficult most of it is, I have seen them both in concert twice, and they were amazing and far better than any other band I have ever seen live, I was in awe every time. And Maynard is seriously my favorite vocalist ever, his voice is amazing and he can express his emotion so well with just his voice his words could be in another language and you could still know what he was feeling. And the main reason I like both of those bands is the lyrics, Maynard is a genious(sp) every song he has wrote has been so deep and intelligent and so in depth in human psychology I just get amazed everytime I hear new stuff. I am very into the human mind and how people work and react, so his music is perfect for me. I as a few people here have been through a great deal of stuff in my life and learning about psychology helped me more than anything ever did, I didn't take but a class or two in it, but I read a number of books and my best friends majored in it and we discuss our lives and basically counsel each other. Anyways it takes quite a bit of effort to figure out what he says and then what he means in his songs but when you do, it will amaze you so much more. A Perfect Circle is a lot easier to understand than Tool but they are very similar. PLus on top of all that they just Rock, the music is so amazing.

Anyways thats cool you like them too, I think more people would like them if they just listened through an album or two, both are incredible, and when I leave I let Frodo listen to 13th Step by A Perfect Circle, she likes it a lot, there is only one song that is heavy and the rest are nice and soft so she likes it, I leave it on low though, I'm hardly ever gone so it's only once in a while that she hears it. Well yeah thats why I like them, I didn't think of you as being a fan either Alyssa, thats cool, funny how you get ideas of people and then they are different from what you thought. Jloc

Oh, I agree 100% with everything you've said about APC. Maynard is also probley my favorite vocalist ever.. I dont like Tool as much as I like APC, maybe if I heard a few more songs by them I would but I prefer APC much more. I love..everything I've heard from them. The music, the lyrics.. everything! Pink Floyd though, has got to be my favorite band of all time. I love just closing my eyes and listening to them as loud as my headphones can go.. at least, I do that with Wish you were here, great song.

I dont really like rap all that much..out of my 200+ songs I dont think I have one rap song :p

WOW! I listen to about 95% of those bands! SOme great ones in there. I think music is very important in peoples lives, more than sports and such. I don't listen to a lot of rap but some I just can't get enough of, like Animom I like Eminem DON'T ask me why but I like his music a lot, another would be Atmosphere, he is amazing, especially his older stuff like God Loves Ugly, a very smart guy who raps/sings some great stuff with some great beats, sheck it out sometime you might like, although if you don't like rap you might not but it's different from 90% of rap so who knows. I've seen 8Mile about 8 times and I NEVER watch movies. I'dlike to bring MM home and make him happy Always loved the mistreated "badboy"

I like just about all bands from the 60's-80's that was the time I was rocking and rolling (more rolling most of the time, but that's another story)

Jloc the thing that helped me the most was similar, I went to school to be a Chemical Dependancy counselor, got my degree and certification. I worked for Agape Womens Treatment center for a year or so. I just couldn't take the cut in pay. It helped me to see where I came from, where I was and most important where I was headed. 16 years later here I am. I took 12 Steps forward.

1 more things my favorite all time singer is Phil Collins and I have every album/CD he's ever made. I even liked him in Disney. My fav all time song is Money, by Pink Floyd.

Well since everybody else added a bunch more bands I'll add some more 2 'cept you guys might not have heard of some of them...

The Blue Man Group, The Propellerheads, Grooveriders (Jack the Ripper song especially), I really like alot of movie sound tracks and am listening to the Matrix & Collateral ones at the moment. Bonnie Rait, Tina Turner, Coldplay, Fuel, Goo-Goo Dolls, Frank Sinatra, Incubus, Collective Soul, Led Zepplin,Godsmack, and lots more on some of your lists...And oh yeah, I think I would love rap if they took out the words and just left the music! I wish they did that!
