Well, I can't get a lovebird right now, so now that I have the time to do so, I'm doing a lot of research on birds. I was wondering what people think. When I am able to do so, should I get a lovebird, or should I get another type of bird?

my next bird is either going to be a tiel or African Gray. They are big, easy to train to talk and so darn cute

I have a cockatiel since my parakeet died. They arent big at all of course a little bigger then parakeets but i think ALOT smaller then my friends African Grey. Very much indeed they are cute! Having a cockatiel to me was a challenge for i think they have a little more attitude then parakeets. They are very small and my baby is learning at a very fast rate. He also is very comical and my friends cockatiel can do many tricks and one could talk clearly! If i had a chance to get another bird i would deffinatly get another cockatiel. I hope this helped!

if u have enough $$$ i'd get an african grey. i was pet-sitting for someone who had one, and he got stuck in his cage liner. he was rather calm as i untangled him. he hopped back to a perch and said to me "thank you!" i thought that was just the cutest thing!

Just say'n but when I was little I had two love birds. They were absolutly evil, They snapped at you if you even got close and they would like dive bomb you. Im not saying that all love birds are mean or even that you shouldnt get one because it was parshaly our falt but whatever.

I have 4 and haven't gotten dive bombed yet. I love my lovies. They are like any other bird, if enough attention is not paid to them and their needs they get angry. Biting is always a risk with any bird, the bigger the bird the harder the bite. I read that a Cockatoo can take a finger off with 1 bite.
