i just mention it in my last post lol you may have missed it. we were prolly posting at the same time.

Hip Keet- Ok so... heres the down fall of that cage... the front door. They're referred to as guillotine doors. I would go to your local petstore and have a look around. Sometimes there are real finds there and they're on sale. My cage is a pretty large clean life (18x18x32... the absolute minimum size for 2 keets) and it was only 30 bucks...
Other then that you sound very organized and like you have a good head on your shoulders
i spent 70 initially on cage, perches, toys... and millet. and then 40 on my first keet (she was hand fed and socialized) and another 15 on a five pound bag of the food her breeder fed her (its very important to start feeding them the food they've been fed forever and then slowly change them to what you want them to eat, otherwise in a brand new place with brand new people and food they might starve themselves) and then another 15 on Darcy (on sale at Petco) and I've easily spent another 150-200 dollars on food, toys, vet visits, wing clippings, cuttle bones, mineral blocks, perches, travel cages, and... misc for them in the past 10 months

Spartan- So I didnt read all of your posts in detail. I gather the bird is feeling ill. TAKE THE MITE PROTECTOR OFF HER CAGE!! IT CAN KILL HER!! if someone else already said this... i apologize but GET RID OF IT... and get her a bigger cage and more diverse perches, rop and natural wood are good.

MTLJ mom what sex are teeka and meeko and what colors are their ceres?the reason i'm asking is i'm thinking their both males,correct me if i'm wrong

um...heh......I think I spent around 300-400 dollars on Kila...so far....heh....but thats just me...it probably is a lot less.

Eww, but are there any other downsides to that cage? really?! only $30 for that cage! i have seen it before i think. it has a red bottom seed catcher, right? yeah, i was thinking aout getting a hand fed parakeet..but I'm not sure.....
Oh, so i should maybe put pellets in mixed in with their seed at first? i shouldn't just put seed in one bowl and pellets in another? eek, i didn't know they would starve themselves.
oh, 150-200 isn't that bad at all!

heh, 6 months on saturday, but she'll be 7 months old on that day too, she was 5 weeks when I got her.

meeko and teeka are both male, when i first bought teeka her cere looked brown but now it is blueish pinkish purpleish and tanish at time lol so from what im told she is actually a he and well ive been calling him teeka for so long i didnt want to confuse him on his name.
