WOW!! How do you call someone you barely know and say "You are going to die." I think fear is the main thing that stopped me from saying more! I didn't feel like he knew me well enough for me to step up and say "Hey, I know you are considering suicide but your wife really needs and wants you to stay here on earth and care for your child!" I kept telling my husband after her funeral.. "He is going to kill himself! I just know he is! He is going to find a mommy for his little girl and then he will be gone!" He would look at me and say, "You think? Naaaah he wouldn't do that." And then a year later when his brother came to our door at 7:00 in the morning and said "(His name) is dead. He killed himself." I was not surprised. I was sooo sad and angry with myself for not saying more! But the fear kept me from doing anything more than telling my hubby the same things over and over! frown Maybe this happening this once, was a way to make me more aware and maybe a little less fearful if it were to dream a similar dream about someone else in the future? Do you wish you had called? Even if you had called do you think he would have listened? That is where I become lost on the whole subject! The what if's! I hate what if's! They are scary! smile Or maybe the reason we see these things before they happen are maybe because it kind of makes us focus on that particular person and the things they have done in their lives.. like maybe there is something important they have said or done that we need to see?? Sorry I am FULL of questions! Was there anything significant you got from these dreams or the people they involved?

As I think about this particular individual that I had this dream about I remember a time in my life when I was struggling very badly with depression and anxiety. My doctor had put me on Prozac years before and I had been on it for several years. Anywho, during this time suicide was on my mind ALOT and I remember thinking about him (he had broken his back and was on all kinds of different medications shortly before he killed himself) and I started thinking "I wonder if the medications had something to do with his suicide?" Shortly after this I began weening myself off of the Prozac (after talking with my doctor of course!) and the thoughts of suicide and even the depression began to lift! smile Maybe that is why I dreamt about he and his wife. Maybe it was to make me aware of the fact that my hubby would be soo hurt and sad if I did the same thing... I wonder..

P.S. I just want to say thank you for discussing this with me!! smile Most of the time when I try to talk about this type of stuff with anyone they kind of look and say "Ummm O.K. sure!"

I used to work with a girl who claimed that she sometimes dreamt the future ~ particularly tragedies. I think that this must be extremely unnerving.

Tweets: What I think if I called that number, and spoke to him about his plane was going to crash, to not get on it, and then he got on it and died...I think that suspition would be brought to me. I'd be asked how did I know the plane was going to crash and such. I don't think that there would really have been anything that could have been done. But, it was unnerving about the news caster looking directly at the camera, at me, and saying "Call him....Stop him.", would it have stopped him, and he went on another flight? Was there sometime he was needed to do later on in his life and I needed to save his life? I feel bad that I couldn't have stopped him from getting on that flight. I wish I had written his name down. I thought I would remember it forever, but just in these past few years I realized that I forgot his name.

It is difficult to talk to other people about this subject. I'd tell who ever I am with, when I see my dream turning into reality. I'd say, "Oh my gosh! I dreampt this!!" and then I'd proceed to tell them what I dreampt. My husband never believed me. He said that the next time it happens, when I have a future dream, to tell him about it. It took a few months and finally, I had a dream. When I have dreams about the future, I get a certain feeling which tells me that it's important, and I remember the dream vividly even after I wake up. So, I told my husband the dream. Some inconsequential thing happened in the dream. It took about 5 years for that dream to come true. We were in our house, which back then, we didn't even think we would ever own a house. But by that time, my husband forgot that I told him about the dream, lol.

Yeah I agree! Most people don't view dreams like this in a favorable light! LOL That and the fact that he was a person who was in the government most definetly would have raised superstition!

I SAY THE SAME THINGS when I dreamt something and it happens!! smile I know just the feeling you are talking about! But I can't describe it!! LOL The only part of the feeling I know how to put into words is my heart begins to race! But there is another feeling that goes along with my heart racing that I just don't know how to describe! LOL

Dreams that take 5 years to come to light definetly make it difficult for anyone to remember or believe! LOL Most of the time it takes quite some time before these dreams ever actually come true for me too! I had a similar dream about the house we are in now! I can remember when we bought our first house, I always had this feeling that it just didn't feel right. I had this dream and it wasn't anything special but I remember walking into a house and seeing the decorations on a shelf high in the living room and in the dream I remember thinking, "Oh, this is cute!" Then one day about 4 years later we were approached by a business next door to our house and they said they wanted to buy the home we were in at the time. We discussed it and decided we may as well go see what was out there before we made a final decision. We went and looked at 4 houses. The second one we walked in was like walking into my dream. My Dad and Hubby were saying, "This is it! This is the One." I remember stopping for a moment and thinking, "I dreamt about this house!! Then I just felt calm and at peace like I had finally come home! smile But if I hadn't had that dream I don't think I would have picked that house! LOL I liked it and everything I just didn't LOVE it! But since we have been here I have fallen in love with the area and the home! smile Living in this house was different from the first house we lived in too because I never had that "new house" feeling. We were all just immediately comfortable like we had always lived there. My brother even made the comment a month after we moved there, "It doesn't seem like you ever lived anywhere else! It's almost like this house is where you have always lived!" We lived in our other house for 9 and 1/2 years and it NEVER felt comfortable!!! LOL Do you feel your dreams ever help you with big decisions? Like maybe they are away of confirming that a decision you made is the right one?

The dream I had about my house, years before we even considered getting a house, took place on Mother's Day. I was up on a ladder, and was painting the upper livingroom walls, which are VERY tall in that room. The kids came in with a build a bear, the border collie. So, it was before I even heard of build a bear too. And that was about the extent of my dream. When I saw it unfolding, lol, I almost lost my balance and fell off the ladder. I guess that we were just meant to live here. smile

It's been really neat to talk to someone else who has experianced the same sort of things about dreaming the future. You've made me feel better, and I didn't even know I felt bad that I couldn't share this with someone who believed.

LOL- I say, on top of a ladder is not the best place to have a dream come true!! I probably WOULD have fallen off the ladder myself! LOL I am clumsy that way! Kudos to you for keeping your balance!! smile It's weird how some of these dreams kind of make you feel like where you are at, is just where you are supposed to be! smile (Does that make sense?) YAAAAAY for dreams!! smile

DITTO!!! I have talked with my daughter a little about it but she is only 10 and so our talks are fairly limited! LOL My hubby usually is like, "You think?? Naaa!" LOL I decided after many attempts to talk to people about it, it just wasn't something that anyone who hadn't experienced it could understand!! YAAAY for the two of us finding each other to talk about it! smile

I've talked about it with my kids too. They believe me, but they never experianced it.

The only thing that we all seem to experiance is this weird feeling. I call it "change". Like we did something, so now we are going down another path. I get this really weird almost butterfly feeling in my stomach, and I almost feel tingly all over.

When my son was about 2nd grade, about 6 months before we ended up going to be moving across the country, he came to me and described this weird feeling he had that was concerning him. It sounded just like what I experiance, so I told him it was "change" that things are changing in our lives but we don't know yet what it is.

Soon, I got that weird feeling too. And eventually, we learned that we were going to be moving. I think I got that feeling after I had that dream about Target and me turning around and smelling a smoggy evening air and seeing flowering trees.

PS. Yes, having a dream come true while at the top of a very tall ladder isn't the best place, lol. laugh

I know just the feeling you are talking about! It is impossible for me to describe but the way you put it into words makes perfect sense to me!! smile

I had one of my dreams come true yesturday!! It wasn't anything special at all and has me completely confused!! LOL In my dream I was sitting at the computer and looked down the hall when my daughter came from the back of the house to the living room, and that was it... It has me completely confused! It was such a short snippet that I can't figure out any importance! I dreamt this about 2 months ago! I was feeling a mixture of emotion when it came about but I was so surprised by it that I completely lost my train of thought! LOL So confusing! I have been thinking about it for several days but I can't seem to think why, or even if, that particular moment was special. My hubby and I have been discussing selling our house and moving to get our mortgage paid down a little more just so things could be a little easier but, I don't know if that is why! LOL I was actually looking at a real estate website when I had my deja vu moment. Hubby and I were talking about the house next door to us that is for sale and the possibility that selling ours and buying it would a) give us just a little bit more room b) be a little bit better layout and c) our mortgage would be about $40,000 less because the basement isn't finished in the one next door and ours is almost done so we could make a good profit! But moving is so HARD! LOL I just don't know if that was the important part of it though!

I was hoping that typing all this would help me think it through a little better but I am not having any revelations! Darn! LOL I tell ya sometimes these dreams are a curse and sometimes a blessing! LOL

What you said about change really has me thinking though! What if we are supposed to do this? Even though it makes me VERY uncomfortable!! LOL Moving is scary for me even when it is only moving next door but more than anything I am scared of the what ifs!! smile Moving across the country would give me a heart attack! I am sure of it!! I have anxiety issues! (I am sure you probably gathered that though! LOL)

The description of your little "snippet", is just so much like the way that my deja vu moments are like. It's never anything special. Once, I dreampt that my mom was in a kitchen talking to my sister and myself. We weren't talking about anything special, just that she was telling a funny story, and we laughed. That was all the dream was. About a year or so later, it came true. The moment was actually the first time my sister came over to visit us in our new apartment, lol.

So, your dream was just about that you were thinking about the move. These dreams seem to tell us about our future, that we will be taking a different path than what we were expecting. I had always said that I'd never move in with my mother again, but, I did, that's what the dream showed me, though I didn't know that I was living with her when I dreampt the dream.

You were thinking that you don't want to move, that it makes up nervous, but you might move anyway. When I had my dream about Target and turning around to see the flowering Crap Mertle Trees, I never, ever thought that I'd ever move across the country. But when the dream came true, I was moved across the country. It was a nerve wracking move too.

What you said about these dreams indicating that our lives will be taking different paths than what we were expecting makes sense!! I told my hubby after we moved I was SOOOO done with moving and dealing with real estate purchases/sales etc.! LOL

We have the WORST luck in the world and things always go horribly wrong! Our last move was a NIGHTMARE!! After we had given our offer and they had accepted, 2 days later we were informed that the home was in foreclosure and it had to be released by the judge in order for them to even sell it! Then when it was time to close, both real estate agents (ours and theirs) where out of town and the "other" real estate agent wouldn't let us in the house even though the loan had funded and it was sitting empty!

When we bought our first house we were told that the city had purchased a portion of the property so they could widen an intersection it was on. Well, when we went and talked to the city the guy looked at us and said, "They can't sell that house! We are closing the driveway!" So we had to have them put an easement through another property so there would be access to our house and that took 2 months to get done! After all this I have decided real estate is no friend of mine! LOL Maybe that is why the thought of moving gives me soo much anxiety!! People keep telling me "MOST" real estate transactions go smoothly... I say, "You tell me what the odds are then for us to have every deal (although there have only been 2, 3 if you count the sale of our old one.. LOL) go so horribly wrong!!" LOL The sale of our house didn't go smoothly either! The people that bought it "said" we didn't need to go through real estate agents, blah, blah, blah.. but when it was time to close, we found out they didn't deposit their earnest money with the title company and didn't even technically have a contract with us because they had gone past the closing date we set and the whole thing got held up for 2 weeks because of the earnest money thing! Can you say NIGHTMARE!! LOL (at least I can laugh now though! LOL) What are the odds of all the MILLIONS of real estate transactions in the world, for us to get the bad ones every time?! LOL Maybe it's God's way of making sure I REALLY appreciate what we have!! Maybe the dream was more of a way to ease me into the idea of moving... Hmm... hadn't considered that! Typing it out IS helping! smile

For now, we have decided to work real hard on getting the basement done all the way because we are only a few months or less out from being done. And the house next door has been sitting for quite some time so the yard is overgrown and not in very good shape so maybe it won't sell before we are ready!! I HOPE!!! smile Hopefully, prices won't shoot up anymore than they have either!! Cross your fingers for us!! smile

Birdie- Thank you soo much for your insight!! It has helped me very much!! smile It has helped me be at peace! You are awesome!! smile
