ok my only dumb random thoughts: tomatoes have more vitamin c than oranges do. That the leaves of the tomato ARE poisonous - the offending chemical is an alkyloid called Tomatine. It was long thought that tomatoes were poisonous because of their red color. But in fact it was their leaves. I can't remember whom did it, but a gentleman once ate a basket of tomatoes on the courthouse steps to prove that they were not poisonous.

Basset hounds have long ears to help fan the scent to their strong noses.
