'The evolution of modern humans has taken more than five million years but until less than 50,000 years ago we had no art, no religion, no sophisticated symbolism, no creative and innovative thinking, and quite possibly no language. Then, a dramatic and electrifying change overtook our ancestors in every part of the globe, and all the skills and qualities that we value most highly in ourselves today appeared suddenly, already fully formed, as though bestowed on us by hidden powers. Scientists describe this change as “the greatest riddle in human history”.' From Graham Hancock's website. http://www.grahamhancock.com/supernatural/
This is the thing that I keep wondering about ~ especially when 'they' keep saying how closely related we are to chimps ~ we are closer to chimps that are gorillas. How did this happen? Is this what is symbolised by the Bible story of eating of the tree of knowledge? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1932857842/theofficialgraha

Evolution is COMPLETELY against the Holy Bible.

The Holy Bible:God created man in 6 days

Evolution:Everything happened by chance and our great ansestors were monkeys!

Evolution is bascically Stupid,I KNOW I didn't come from monkey's or Chimps.

I believe in evolution....

I dont believe some almighty person went "poof" and then the world was here. There is scientific evidence to back up evolution, yet none for creationism. There's vality behind natural selection and gene mutation, yet, there is none beind "someone" making it all magically apear. I do not believe in magic, and I do not believe in creationism.

anywho- back to that-

I think it's definitely an interesting concept to think about, that we had no form of formal communcation or art or language, etc.

and yeah, It's odd that we're closer to gorrilas than chimps.

It surely is a riddle!!

Show me proof.

And he didn't make it magically appear,he spoke light into the world. Also,he didn't go "Poof!" he spent time and afort on making a good world.

I mean if it was an exsplosion then it wouldn't be such a creative world just a ball with grass.

How could an exsplosian make a planet?a planet of creativeness.

A world so creative must have had a creator.

Science itself states that matter cannot be created Nor destroyed.. I don't know if god sat down one day and decided hmm i want to make a big ball and put stuff on it.. or if he decided that he wanted to put different things together and see what happened.. But no matter if you believe in creationism or evolution something had to put those buikding blocks here. He may not have glued them together himself or maybe he did but it's here and it's beautiful.

Is it?
How do you know that the creation story in the Bible isn't symbolic?
Jesus supposedly told made-up stories, that were symbolic ~ they were called parabels.

Quote:
The Holy Bible:God created man in 6 days

No it is not stupid.
Greater minds than yours or mine have worked on this.

Do you think that you are in a position to say that evolutionary scientists are stupid?

It is not a case of us coming from monkeys; it's a case of both monkeys and humans evolving from the same creature way back.

Maybe that first creature who evolved on our path was symbolically known as 'Adam' in the Bible.

You do not 'know' where you came from. It all happened too long ago for anyone to be certain.

You have your beliefs ~ which have come from somewhere ~ but there is a difference between 'belief' and 'knowledge' and 'truth'.

I don't 'know' ~ I am agnostic.
