i was going outside (not with my bird)and my bird came to the door he's been outside before. Anyway he comes out the door and a gust of wind comes and he freaked out and flew down the hill of our house i was around the corner and before i could see where he went he was gone!
Help any suggestions????

put his cage outside with food, and his favorite toys. go around the house calling his name loudly. ask ppl to help if you want.

you have to see where he is, if its cold where u live, you have to find him asap!

o im sorry. maybe play a song he recognizes and call him loudly! leave a cage out w/ fresh food and water. keep calling for hours and do it for days! dont give up, they can still come back even after a week of calling! good luck! keep updates =]

seafoam, can u explain how calling the keet gonna make it come back? im just wondering because my opinon is that the keet flew away already so please explain ur theory, how is puting fresh food and water out gonna help the keet come back?

There have been people on this board who have lost a keet like this and have put out their cage and they have come back to it. It is their home and they feel safe there. It may not have flown away already and may be hiding somewhere. If it hears your voice and is close it might come. Especially if it thinks of you as its family.

No problem. Lamonas is right in the sense that if the bird is already gone that won't necessarily work. But it's always worth a try, especially since it has worked on occasion.

if it thinks of you as his family thats another story but most keet owners dont have their keets thinking of their owners as thier family which is sad but yea if the keet is trained and perches and u can walk around the house with it in the whole house without it flying then there is a chance it will come back but if the person doesnt see the keet anywhere, go around the neighborhood and calling a bird isnt gonna help anything if the keet isnt trained, and puting a cage outside isnt gonna help anything either IN MY OPINION, the keet may be miles away, i just dont understand the point of the whole procedure,well maybe its cuz i live in an apt and not in a house but even if i did have a house and my keet flew away god forbid which will NEVER happen because im very careful and besdies my keets will not want to fly away from me, and they are not cliped. i wouldnt think puting a cage outside my house will make the keet come back ,the keet doesnt have eagle eyes that can see the specific house from above, besdies if its cold it will probably freeze which is horribly sad, then again if the keet is siting on a tree near your house then maybe puting a cage out will help but calling it wont help , it will just scare it more if its not trained that is, if it is VERY trained thats another story, people be MORE CAREFUL with you keets, keets die because of such mistakes, its just so sad
