So Scott has taken a new job working from 9pm to 5am Mon thru Fri... But its gonna be so hard for me. Im not used to being away from him, and I am used to snuggling up with him during the night. I know he had to do it because the moving business in MI is HORRIBLE right now, and he was getting no work. But Im kinda depressed about it. He hasnt started yet, but Im dreading when he does. I will miss him... Its temporary, but temporary could be a year or more. *Sigh*

Anyone else with bf's, fiances, or husbands that work nights? And if so, how do you cope with it?

my husband used to work all day long and then nights too i hated it but we had no choice at the time ... we dont sleep in the same room but i couldnt stand him not being home ... it disrupted my whole routine ... i got used to it though .... and i used to go visit him at work at night sometimes lol .... its rough .... specially if ur used to sleepin next to each other ... at the time we had just moved on our own and we didnt even have cable lolz id be bored out of my mind haha

Im not necessarily used to sleeping next to him... Lol, he snores so loud so I dont always sleep next to him, but I am used to him just BEING here.

Its just kinda messing with my mind. I will miss him so much, and there will be days where I will have to go to work at like 1pm and he will still be sleeping... Then I will be home around 9, but he will be gone

Atleast we have cable, lol...

yea its hard at first then you get used to it ... my husband got transfer to a city about a hour and a half away ... but it was a huge promotion so of course he took it ... we couldnt afford to move right then so he went on and stayed with his friend for 3 months almost 4 til we could move easily(financially) so i was like all alone constantly and i hated it at first ... lol then i got used to it and when we moved back together i was like my god why are you always here GO AWAY hahaha

Im just getting like waves of anger from it. It makes me so mad, but then again I know he has to do it. Im a brat I guess. Ugh, Im getting mad again. I gotta stop thinking about it.

It makes it worse cuz my best friend lives in Baltimore, so I cant just go to see him if Im bored/lonely. My child hood best friend is going through a divorce, and has a 2 year old and a full time job... So its hard to see her. Shes always busy. And my other friends are older (30's) with kids. Blah.

lol i feel ya i dont got hardly any friends that live close by all my freinds lives in other states or over seas its sucks so bad i have just one friend here in florida and she is a trip lolz

I work nights (or used to more often) and it's a hard routine to get used to. eric (my boyfriend) had a hard time adjusting to it. The hardest concept for him was letting me sleep all day (or at least part of it) after i got out of work. for me an overnight shift is either 4pm-4am, or 8pm-8am so i need to sleep when i get out. You'll adjust and get through it, at least it's only a few days a week and not every day. He can be normal Thursday and sunday with you at least.

it can get lonesome when ones mate works nights.maybe a hobby might help to pass the time.like reading,knittng,painting or drawing.

See if there is a local bird club - the one in AA meets the 2nd thurs of the month at 7pm, I went and joined last week, each month there is a guest speaker, lots of neat bird owners, opportunities to help rescues and at bird shoes.
