Fact: Americans say Y'all, Canadians say eh?

I have never said "y'all," but I have been heard to utter a "ya betcha."

In a restaurant in Alabama a waitress used "y'all" in the singular as well as the plural, which blew my mind -- she was looking at me & saying "Y'all ready to order?" & I thought, "Well apparently I'm in charge of ordering food for all four of us at this table?" but she meant: was I personally ready to order for myself (then she moved on to the other people). So evidently "y'all" can mean "you guys/gals" or "you one person," which I think is bizarre!

UPer's (residents of MI upper peninsula - pronounced youppers) say eh as much as Canadians if not more, they also call residents of the lower peninusula trolls.

I say both, CM. Im just a mix of crazy.

i just have a ton of canadian friends and one of them says eh after like every sentence so we make fun of him alot and now i cant stop saying it, eh

Helwa: Well, better to say "eh" a lot than "like," as in: "So, like, my budgie, like, likes millet, and I'm, like, "Cool" and she's, like, "Tweet," like, totally!

(And believe me - this has nothing to do with your having used "like" above -- I'm actually making fun of myself, since a few years ago I'd catch myself saying "like" way too often. I've managed to limit that, but I'm still working on "goes" -- "she goes, blahblahblah, and I go, well blahblahblah" etc.!)

Not sure if this is irrelevant enough, but if most Mothers had their way, no one if their families would leave home without clean and untorn and untattered underwear.

Carl as usual you are correct, i think ity is probably a proven fact in some research somewhere.

My most likely to be true fact is: most people probably don't read there camera/cellphone/misc. high-tech gadget's manual front to back!

i know i dont. on the "like" topic, one of my friends ends every sentance with "and then yeah..."

ex: "we went to the movies and my sister threw popcorn at the people above us and then yeah..."

and then what????????
