geckos are a million times better than iguanas (as pets). I dont like to show favoritism of different animals, but iguanas do not make good pets. not only do they get big, but all of them go through an agressive juvinile stage and many do not come out of it. They get very mean, and when they're 5 feet long, they can hurt you pretty bad.

I hear you there, haha, but the difference is that i actually got a lot of the animals i really wanted.

sometimes I'm glad my mother doesnt stick to her word, lolz. she has told me a million times, "no more animals!!!"

after each and every one she used to lecture me on how i dont need anymore. then she'd let me get another one.

then I just started bringing things home from work (like geckos) and I think she gave up. haha.


but dont get me wrong, there are a TON of other animals that I would want, but 18 is enough for now, until I have someone who could help clean cages, haha.

We have a female leopard gecko. They're such great pets!! Congrats on the baby!!

which type? geckos like this? there are a ton of species of geckos out there. These (crested geckos) and Leopard geckos (like my leo and freddy) are the best for starters.

really, If you're new to them, get one. They do not need the company of another animal, and are perfectly fine alone. if you get two, there's a chance they'll be male & female in which case they WILL breed, or you could end up with two males, in chich case they WILL fight and possibly kill one another.
you cannot tell the sex of a baby gecko, no matter what anyone tells you. they do not develop sex organs until maturity which is about 1y. some people will be able to make an educateed guess, but it's never 100% sure.
