Everyone on here has some really awsome pics. I love looking at all the talent that we all have. I have wanted to post some pictures but have been hesitant to do so. The reason is that there could be lurkers on here that could "steal" pictures. So upon thinking and researching I came up with a temporary solution.
I used Adobe photoshop to edit my pictures. There I can add text to the picture. I have added Copyright 2008 in light colored type to the following picture. Then I select the lock image box. Now I can post and if some on here right clicks and copies the picture they get the picture with the text across it and cannot get it off. I know it is a temp fix. But it is a small way to protect all the hard work that each one of us puts into our photos.
If anyone else has a good idea on how to do this I would love to hear it.

Val...that copyright on your picture is a great idea.

Helwa...is flickr free? I use pbase.com and you can put a copyright message on the pictures but you still can right click. Smugmug.com is really good where you can't right click and everything is protected. I've been thinking about switching over.

yea flickr is free ... i have the paid version ... but the free one is good too you just cant create as many albums.

i duno if you can right click or not ... hmmm that would be a good thing to have

Actually you can Helwa. I right clicked on one of yours (did not steal it I swear!) just to see if it would let you do that.

well in that album its public... it has no restrictions on it ... and i can cancel the link anytime i want which i like.

copyright messages on the pic can easily be erased if someone knows how lol

but at least it gives a layer of security that wasnt there before.

in the past ive put a water mark on my pics .... its a copyright logo or words or whatever that you put right across the entire pic and its almost clear so it dosnt obstruct the pic but makes it impossible to steal.

True ~ photos can still be edited to get rid of the mark, but it's something at least.

Yes, all photos are copyright ~ but it doesn't stop people using them.

I put my initials and the date on my latest ones, I think I'll keep doing that for now.

not that I'm really concerned about people stealing them...
