Yes, I have myspace, facebook, myyearbook(http://www.myyearbook.com) and PDM is right. Myspace has been in the national news a couple of times. Go look it up.

I know all about this, the thing with facebook is you can keep everything private except to the people that you confirm as friends. And even to friends you choose what they see about you.

While this is true Kelsey, it is still not a good idea to add anyone as a friend that you have never met in person. I have facebook, but it has lots of personal info in it, including my first and last name as do most people's. If you have an e-mail address, phone number, or home address listed anywhere there is potential for disaster. Plus everyone's are loaded with pics and videos. I have even read that employers/coworkers/schools will try to find out information about you from facebook/myspace by adding someone as a friend and being accepted even though the account owner doesn't know who the person is they are adding. In my opinion, it is best to only add family or close friends that you have met in person because it is safest. The only exception could possibly be if you have absolutely no identifying information on there. And if you're under 18, don't put pictures of yourself on there unless your account is set to "private" and you don't add people you've never met. If someone asks and you don't know them they should understand if you politely say "no, I don't know you well enough." If they argue with you, then that is a little fishy in my opinion.

It's just like myspace. It's a networking site where you can add friends and leave messages and post pictures. Basically the same thing.

ooooh yeahhh, that's a great thing to mention, animalfriend. DO NOT put inapropriate content on ANY myspace or facebook or whatever page that anyone can access becuase it WILL bite you in the butt in the future. If you're looking for a job and your MySpace page has sparkly pot leaves on it (NEVER something to boast about, by the way) or is incredibly rude and ignorant in general, what does that tell your potential employer? Companies DO look at pages like this. Same thing goes with your school. I am aware that some teens tend to drink when they are underage or use drugs, but posting pictures of yourself with a bottle of Vodka in your hand and boasting about how smashed you get with your friends on the weekend, is just STUPID.
When I was in HS, our Student Congress President got his position taken away after a school administrator saw a picture on his myspace where he had a beer bottle in his hand. So yeah, not smart. It's ILLEGAL to do, and people like to broadcast it becuase it makes then seem cool... seems stupid to me

Exactly. I have seen tons of pictures of people on facebook at parties and I just think about things like that. Zoo is right it will come back to you in some form. Whether you think it will or not. Why would you want pictures of yourself doing inappropriate things floating around the internet anyway? I knew someone who had all kinds of bad pictures on their myspace and another friend's mom saw it and told her parents. She was in huge trouble. You just never know who's going to see it.
