Please note that everyone on this forum should be aged 13 or over.

This is a necessity for all Internet forums, not just ours.

Occasionally, adults will open an account and allow children to post. This may sometimes, possibly, be all right, provided the adult supervises the child at all times and checks all posts before they are sent.

If this is going to happen, the adults need to confirm this to Lisa and check that she is able to allow it.

thats a good rule. is there any special reason for this topic, other than a reminder of the rules? i think its good for us to have a reminder of the rules once in a while, it saves people a lot of trouble.

I know that from time to time under 13s do register ~ though it is obvious from the application page that they should not.

Sometimes, from the comments made, it's possible to get an idea who the younger members are ~ and then I wonder if they have actually reached 13.

This is a reminder to those currently using the forum who may have given an incorrect age, or who may be using an adult's account without supervision.

One person admitted very recently to being under 13, so I think that I need to post this reminder.

The forum is for 13s and over only.

Well, we are unable to allow anyone under 13 to be a member. It definitely says this when people register.

Please, if anyone here is under 13, they may not post unless specific authorisation has been given by Lisa.

Sometimes I think that it may be possible for an under-13 to post, if a responsible adult controls the account and is there with them whenever they post, having ckecked each item first. But this would only be after the account has been checked and authorised by Lisa.

The very first thing people are asked for, when they try to register, is their date of birth. Annyone under 13 will receive this message:
'Sorry, we do not allow children of your age to register. '

So there is no excuse for breaking this rule.

I know that some members have indicated recently, one way or another, that they were under 13 ~ I don't think that they have posted since being asked about it.

woot i pass by almost 4 years :P, but there could be a lot of ppl who just normaly put an older age cause they know the way sites work most the time ppl dont like little kids on their forums so they set an age thing, but lil kids just say they are like 18 or 35 idk but never their real age

i have a few questions. dont be rude if they're dumb, please.

what if we are very serious about our knolwedge to birds but we're like 10? honestly i lied about my age cuz absolutely no other site i found had ANY information like this one and they were all dumb questions that were common knolwedge a 5 year old knew.

what if we lied about our parents' permission? how could you prove it? not that we would really lie or any other kid here would, but seriously, think about it. we dont really know who we are on this site so who are we to say 'this is my mom/dad?'

what if 'i' was, say, 25, and i was very immature and everyone thought i was 10/11? just because 'i' am immature doesnt necesarilly mean im a 'kid'. i know a tooon of kids that are very mature that are my age and younger.

okay, i know this is a long post but these questions have been nagging at me for a very long time. so, again, id apprececiate it if you were kind and didnt make a fuss about my questions. because thats why we're here, to answer eachother's questions.

Wow, I'm 13. Am I the youngest of the group? ;P Well I was thinking the same thing, you could be very mature for your age and really care about your birds. Does it make it so wrong for you to lie about your age, but you don't even post your name, where you live, or anything.
