Thanks ~ they are cute!
They are bigger, now, of course, but still not too big and very pretty!

OMG what cute little kitties. The picture on that chair is mesmerizing. Their stripes and the pattern almost are the same. A beautiful fuzzy swirl.

Thet are sisters from a litter that my sister-in-law's cat had. There were three females and a male.

I just want to add that when they come home if they are still a little groggy from anesthetic, you don't want to give them food for a few hours as they might throw up. My vet told me to avoid water for a few hours and food until the next day, but you should ask your vet to be sure. Also, you will want to make sure they aren't allowed to jump off of high places, especially if they are groggy as they could get hurt. I didn't let mine get on anything she could jump/fall off for a whole day because I didn't want her to get hurt, not even the bed. I found that a comfy blanket on the floor was a great recuperating spot.
I have 2 cats and they have both been under anesthesia. Both times I had to hold them over the litterbox to relieve themselves because they were too out of it to find it themselves, so maybe pay attention to the possibility that they may have to go to the bathroom. I just held them in the box and let their bottom touch the litter so they knew where they were.
Ummm what else. When Suzi (the gray one)had her surgery she was really cold and really out of it when she came home. So, I layed her on a blanket with a heating pad under it on low (it has a timer to shut off after 30 minutes) and watched her really closely. It took her almost 2 days to come around and I think they gave her too much anesthetic.
If I think of anything else I will let you know. Mine did not have a problem with stitches, even Zoe who cleans herself constantly, although that is also something you have to watch for as well.
All in all, the spaying experience wasn't horrible. Everything worked out quite well.

AW! They're absolutely adorable!

Not only will having them spayed be good for them, but it will be good for you, your carpets, and your sanity.

My grandmother has a 2 yr old cat, and she was sexually mature before she got her spayed. When she was in heat she'd be up all night, crying, scratching to be let out, and restless. Poor think would hunch up anytime you tried to pet her, and seemed like she was in pain (whether or not she was, I don't know). She also lost control of her bladder. I'm sure she meant to mark things, but she definitely peed as well.

Boy am I glad that's over!

Good luck to your babies! smile

awwwww they're adorable!!!

lotus was my first female animal (well, when i found her and her brother, i was still under the impression that nena was a dudette, but i know better now), and so she was my first experience with spaying.

neutering is not nearly so intrusive. but spaying is entirely different altogether. and i know thta it's for their own good and that it's the responsible thing to do, but i feel so horrible when i see them all drugged up not knowing what happened.

when lotus was spayed, she was just low-energy for a couple of days. and even though her brother was still a baby too, there wasn't really a problem with her ripping ehr stitches out or anything.

frankly,i don't really think she was feeling well enough to go tearing through the house like she normally does. so i think it definitely varies from cat to cat.

just give them lots of love (and maybe a few extra treats here and there), and, like everyone said, watch those wounds! with little girl kitties, especially regarding the placement of the incision point, it's really easy for those to get infected.

so if you see anything on either one of them, it's off to the vet! and also, remember that they'll be really groggy from the anesthesia. so try to keep them off of high places until they start acting normally again.

but i'm sure everything will go just fine. they are too cute for complications, lol smile good luck!

PDM - isn't it just halarious to have litter mates. We got two litter mates, Molly and Murphy (the Brown sisters). They were the funniest things to watch. I sat one day and watched them climb up my drapes chasing each other, it was so amusing, I just sat there and said I can't believe I am allowing kittens to climb my drapes.

I had never gotten two kittens together before - and I so enjoyed watching them play as kittens.

What was supprising was you could not tell them apart visually but they were as different as night and day in their personalities.
