Heres the thing. Humans are omnivorous. I personally think its going against your nature and your physiology not to eat meat. Like Zoo said thought it's a personal choice. I have friends who are veggie and I would never walk up to them and shove a Fudruckers burger in their face and go 'eat it', but I'm not gonna lie I dont live it when they tell me how cruel i am to eat meat. I'm meant to eat meat. My body is meant for processing meat. My mother grew up on a farm and yes here were times when dad (my grandfather)cooked a 'pet' for dinner but he always told them not to get attached and they knew darn well what the animals were for (food, cuz I'm not gonna lie, I will not starve to save a chicken... no how, no way) so my family has very few illusions about slaughter and what not. That doesnt mean I love to look at butcher shop windows, or that i could ever kill an animal myself, I dont have the heart, especially if someone else is volunteering to do it for me. If i was stranded on an island with a pig though you'd best believe I'd eat it unless i did something stupid like name it.. in which case.. I dunno. I also have a very good friend who's vegan, her heart is failing cuz she doesnt get enough protien. She's 23 and her heart is already failing cuz she's going against her physiology. Now, thats her choice, I helped her find all kind of vegan protein alternatives but i choose to get my protein where God intended me to. Oh and because I sort of trailed off a bit back there i also wanted to mention, to Samiya, I see how this is a touchy subject for you. But I wanted to point something out, you say you dont press your views on anyone, but then Zoo mentioned she cooked a turkey for her family (which is her choice as a loving a contributing member of the family and may or may not be your choice one day as a contributing and loving family member) and you basically called her a murderer... which i think is pretty much pushing your views on her by making her feel bad. So as much as you hate it when other people do things that you think are wrong, maybe you should calm down a minute and say, ok, I dont agree or understand but I dont have to, it's a free country. Take some deep breaths, and let everyone else have their opinion too.
side note: has anyone ever seen notting hill, with the girl who is a frutitarian and believes the any fresh vegetables have been murdered... that's something to think on too...

I did a research paper about vegetarianism a few years ago in college, mainly on how our bodies are not originally designed to eat meat. I misplaced that paper already, but there are many websites that can scientifically prove about this fact such as the below article: http://www.geocities.com/mr.ego_banget/humanphysiology.htmlHuman Physiology "You can't tear flesh by hand, you can't tear hide by hand. Our anterior teeth are not suited for tearing flesh or hide. We don't have large canine teeth, and we wouldn't have been able to deal with food sources that required those large canines." --Renowned anthropologist, Dr.Richard Leakey (Neal Barnard, The Power Of Your Plate, Book Publishing Company: Summertown, Tenn., 1990, p.170) According to biologists and anthropologists who study our anatomy and our evolutionary history, humans are herbivores who are not well suited to eating meat. Unlike natural carnivores, we are physically and psychologically unable to rip animals limb from limb and eat and digest their raw flesh. Even cooked meat is likely to cause human beings, but not natural carnivores, to suffer from food poisoning, heart disease, and other ailments. ..... While carnivores can process all the saturated fat, protein, and bacteria in animal flesh, a meat-based diet can send humans to an early grave. Clearly, people were not intended to eat meat.
