This is very true...in some instances they are starving to death and have no other choices...we really take for granted how many options we have...for others it could be life or death and they eat every part...even what we would consider to be un-edible. Where my in-laws live in Africa, the children look for ants to eat during the dry season...who can blame them, there is no food growing fresh or they are too poor to buy it...most of them are orphaned by AIDS and they have no other choices. We really are a privileged society and I am truly thankful that we can make choices about what we want to or don't want to eat...and while I've gone hungry before, I've never been starving to death...

actually, there is a pretty rich tradition here in the us of eating insects. they happen to be quite good for you. and actually, you swallow an average of 3 spiders a year.

Potatoes are a member of the nightshade family and the original varieties had a lot of toxins in them so they were eaten with clay since the clay would absorb the toxins. Modern potaotes have been bred to be toxin free in the tuber but if they have gone green they have poisons and the stems and leaves are poisonous as well. Many places in the wold eat insects as a source of protein and shellfish are really similar to insects except they live underwater. And puppies have been eaten here for centuries and are still eaten as medicine and in ceremonies by some of my relatives.

I could have gone the rest of my life without knowing that lol. Im guessing it happens when we sleep....do they make a screen cover for your mouth hehehhe

haha.. actually, at any average part of your day, you're usually no more than 4 feet away from a spider of some sort

so yeah, it happens when you're sleeping, usually, hehe

A friend of mine who hates Chinese food often gives me grief about how often I eat it because I'm "really eating cats" -- "Kung-Pao Kitty" and "Egg Foo Feline," etc. Hey, if someone can make nasty old cat taste that good, then fine, bring it on! Hahahahaha!
