In recent months, two highly regarded Christians have had their faith tested.

Stephen Curtis Chapman, wonderful Christian artist, lost his five year old daughter on May 21 due to her being run over by a car. To make matters worse, the car was driven by Stephen's older son, the little girls own brother.

Greg Laurie, the pastor from Harvest Church in California (a Calvary Chapel) also lost his oldest son (33 years old) during a traffic accident in June of this year.

Each man has experienced tragedy. Yet to this day, neither one of them blames God nor are they angry at God.

Last week, our church had a special guest, a young man, only 25 years old with no arms and no legs. He is from Australia. He calls his ministry "No Limbs/No Limits". Awesome testimony.

I pray that if ever I am tested in those manners, I will have half the grace these gentleman have all shown under these circumstances. I pray the same for all of you folks.

Blessings,

Emilie

This is very nice, but what about people who aren't Christian who go through similar experiences and manage very well?

Agreed, people of every faith go thru tough times. I just believe it is much easier when you have someone like the Lord in your life during those times. And yes, people who don't know God manage very well at times.

Blessings,

Emilie

If it helps people who are suffering to believe, then good for them.

My cousin is very seriously ill with an incurable disease. His faith keeps him going. I can't argue with that.

So God is not needed at all in those cases. It seems like some people need a God for a crutch and some don't.

People used top tell my Dad that he would soon turn to God if he was dying, but he didn't. People are just different.

If it were me, I think that I would pray to God ~ I'm sure that I would ~ but I don't think that I would become 'religious'.

Well, I'm not religious either PDM. And for the record, I did not turn to God during a time of crisis. Everything in my life was going beautifully. I had a wonderful, loving husband and some beautiful healthy children. I did however feel a void in my life, something missing (no mbas, not my brain). I believe God came into my life to fill that void.

Blessings,

Emilie

since I have been over this 1,000 times, look thru my previous posts if you want the answer as to the difference between religion and personal relationship.
