Hi All. Is 250$ too much for hand-fed Linnies?
I fell in love with 2 at Magnolia Bird Farm today. There were 8 in a windowed cage. My hubby had sticker shock! They were extremely busy in the store so I was not able to hold one. frown But 2 of them blinked and cooed at my finger. I will just get one. I saw quite a few of them on YouTube yesterday getting along well with American Keets. I know I would need a seperate cage for her. The clerk said the one I was looking at was a girl. (less dark markings on the tail) And unlike American Keets; the sex does not matter how they will tame.
I am posting a link to a picture and a story of some beautiful Linnies Cracker and Peanut. The ones I saw were all the same turquoise as in the photo of these 2.

How exciting! They're so beautiful... As for cost: our local Petsmart sells linnies for $350! I presume they're not hand-fed, either...

I have seen those keets at petco for only 200$ when i went to go buy jaxes but they were to much so i could not get one, so i settled for jaxes. I also live in Houston Tx but idk if the region/state in which you live will increase the price. they were not hand feed/ raised and there was only like 10 on display

I have been pricing them on the internet @ about 200$ a peice and 250$ hand-raised 375$ for special colors.
So sounds like the bird farm is where I will go since I know they are well cared for there and I can easily get to the store. I would NEVER ship a live animal! frown

you should nvr nvr nvr ship a live animal. unless it's really close like to Houston to Dallas that's like 1hr flight by fedex but never over states that's not the best idea. yeh i actual saw them again today at petsmart today when i bought jaxes a new cage today. they were 350 all green. OMg the look so nice. =)

My budgie, B-Jay, is madly in love with my linnie, Lily. He sometimes annoys her, but most of the time they get along great. It took a while, though. Lily is a real snuggler and LOVES to land on heads. She is always eager to come out of her cage and difficult to get back in. She also LOVES to be misted.

She cost $200.
