Somehow my oldest has started eating fish and chicken, but not red meats or pork. The pediatrician and the nutritionist both told me that the body knows when it needs certain things and will do what it has to do to survive so that's most likely why. I don't give my kids multivitamins because there was a link between multivitamins and asthma in african americans that the pediatrician told me about and when my kids were younger they did take multivitamins and suddenly developed asthma. Since being off of those, the asthma has disappeared.

So I guess chicken and fish are fine, but no red meats or pork. That's for my youngest and I to consume. I've gotten used to making separate dishes now.

Oh yes, aubergine is lovely when it's cooked right.

As for meat, if you give it up for long enough, you might find that you won't like it, if you try to change your diet back again.

I stopped eating beef, pork/ham/bacon and lamb, but I hadn't become a vegetarian. One day I decided I'd just have a bit of ham, because I had some that looked really nice. When I tried to eat it, though, I simply couldn't stomach it.

However, on holiday in Spain, I did have some paella which had some bits of pork in it and I did eat that.

I've been a Vegetarian for about 8 years now. It is the only choice for me. I love animals and meat has always disgusted me, even as a young child. I could never cook meat, even when I ate it, it smells & looks gross.
I tried Vegan, but it was a challenge and I didn't make it past a month. So many things contain animal by products including most medicines & antibiotics. Vegan vitamins are very expensive and I could not find a Vegan cheese sub I liked.
