How do you feel about the 'sport' of hunting?

I'm against. Very much so.
And I don't consider it to be 'sport'.

I am very opposed to the sport of killing. I have known some real hunters and I have respect for them. (what I mean by real hunters is: killing squirells with a twenty-two with one shot to the head so all the meat is usable) A lot of us eat meat and that meat comes from animals.

It really would be interesting to give the deer guns.

The practice of putting food out for the deer, then waiting in a "tree" for the "game" to come back to the feeder is despicable.

I agree with both of you completely. I can have some respect for, to an extent, people who hunt to eat. But people who shoot the animals just for the heck of it are, as BLR put it so well, despicable. Many kids at my school enjoy shooting the animals in places of their body where it causes them obvious pain but doesn't kill them outright (eg. this kid at my school was bragging about hoe he shot a deer in the eye and it crashed into a tree, running away from him, because it couldn't see. Oh yeah, that's entertaining.)

Yes, there may be people who can justify hunting, or wearing fur, but there are many who hunt and wear fur with no justification whatsoever.

And there is hunting ~ for food, done with respect ~ and hunting for sport. That's just for entertainment ~ especially the type of thing we used to see here, with dogs chasing, cornering, terrifying and ripping apart deer or foxes.

Yes. I don't see how anyone could possibly find it entertaining to cause terror and suffering in an innocent animal.
