Reptile leather isn't seen that often ~ not here, anyway ~ but when it is seen, I thought that it was recognisable.

i like the crocodile type leather products, but its fake lol not leather and not crocodile, its just the imprint of croc skin.

but i have lots of bags, wallets and shoes and even my daily planner in it and alot of people ask me if its real and i look at them like they are nuts

first of all i couldnt afford it and 2nd im soo not the kind of person would buy something like that anyway lol

and i agree with pdm, there is a serious different between cow leather and reptile

first of all reptile isnt called leather its just called skin... croc skin bag, aligater skin boots, snake skin boots and so on.

2nd ... they are indeed skinned alive for the most part or murdered needlessly and cruely.

The Fur Trade, Hudsons Bay, fur is a Canadian thing I guess, I love my leather and I own rabbit fur, angora is warm and comfy and have you seen those bunnies they can spare it's like shearing a sheep, I have a fur stole too, it was a family hand me down thingy, but i don't know what fur?!! No head on it.

I alos know tons of people who hunt up here, my Dr. is one which is funny only because his daughter just became a vet.She won th Ballard award for Wildlife so many exciting prospects of a career as a DVM.
http://www.morrisanimalfoundation.org/2008_vss
She is in the second video down the Ballard award talking about Elephants in Thailand.

She eats meat and wears leathers so I guess it is up to each individual on their views. Neither of us supports the idea of skinning live animals or torturing them for no purpose etc.

I have a faux fur coat that I just simply love. I don't own anything leather as the smell makes me sick and I'm allergic to wool and cashmere. I usually just stick with the regular synthetics.

however, cashmere is probally one of the best animal products to wear ...

it isnt taken from the animal by force, its taken when the animal is naturally moulting, once a year.

the cashmere comes from the downy soft fur under the top layers of fur from the goat... kinda like down feathers are softer and warmer than top layers of feathers

in order for that soft downy fur to be top quality it has to be naturally shed/moulted and not torn and so on and handled very delicatly.

id put it in the same catergory as wool, its not harming that animal at all by taking it, and in fact is naturally shed and very beneficial to humans smile

I learned first hand that I was allergic when I was working at a high end retail store and broke out into a violent rash while handling cashmere. Talk about shock!

I love animals too much to wear (or eat) them.
