Trust me, the only drama was watching this fine actor becoming a complete moron. There are many fine dramatic actors who have been in comedies and vice versa. Meet the Parents- Robert De Niro Tootsie- Dustin Hoffman These are 2 of the finest dramatic actors appearing in comedies The flip side Will Smith Robin Williams These are 2 of the funniest actors appearing in dramas

I didn't know. Come to think of it, he did come across as kind of goofy in the two shows that I saw him in, when he tried to be funny. But in serious drama, I really liked him.
I haven't seen Meet the Parents. I'll put it on my list.

It is a hoot. Deniro is priceless and Hoffman and Streisand are old friends so they come off as just having fun together and they happen to get it on film for the movie. Half the time, I don't even think they are acting. Hoffman played it tongue in cheek the whole movie. I love how relaxed and unpretentious he is. I can't wait to see his latest movie.

Hoffman sure put effort into his Tootsie part. But beyond the physical and costuming, I liked the attitude. Another who carried that kind of part well I think was Scott Bakula in Quantum Leap. I also liked Victor/Victoria. More a funny movie, I thought Steve Martin's movie All of Me was good.
By the way, what comedy show did Martin write for in the beginning of his career?

Steve Martin's funniest movie, IMHO, was SGT Bilko. I laugh harder each time I see it. One of the best comedies. Ernest G. Bilko: "All I've ever wanted was an honest week's pay for an honest day's work." ... Isn't this what we all strive for? LOL
