I loved the skits that Carol Burnett did also and she relied a lot on silent gags a lot like Red Skelton did. She did a more subtle form of slap stick like in the skit about the janitor woman. She would get her foot stuck in her bucket and basicall keep messing up stuff finally at the end of the skit she bends over and Harvey comes in the door and the door hits her and she goes out the window. All of the slap stick happened to her though. It was hilarious. I don't like the form the three stooges did though. I enjoy subtle humor that is dry, like in the English comedies. I like Lewis Black also. I also think John Candy was one of the funniest men alive. He could just raise an eyebrow and look at someone for three seconds and you would crack up. Plains trains and automobiles is one of his funniest movies ever with Steve Martin.

OH OH and let's not forget the famous duo, Laurel and Hardy. Again, Oliver could give stan a look and you knew what was going to happen. My husband and I were talking about how much trouble stan used to get into and no matter how unbelievable he could always do something amazing that defied reality and then Oliver would try it and it would fail.

I loved Lucy and Desi and The Carol Burnett show and Fawlty towers!!

I find comedians who can make fun of themselves and/ or their backgrounds or country funny.

I always loved the Carol Burnett show too, especially Tim Conway's old man shuffle.
I think my fav comedy acts have to do with "real life" situations that really hit home. Some of my favorite comedians are Bill Cosby,Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Jim Carrey, Dennis Leary-I love his coffee routine,Dat Phan, and Tim Allen, amongst others.
I know that there are a lot of "comedy" movies that I just find too stupid to be funny..but my hubby and kids think they are hilarious.

I don't remember seeing Casual Sex..I'll have to google it to refresh my memory.

I know I shouldn't but I just roared when I saw a Cheech and Chong movie (one in particular). Gave me a whole new perspective to watching Don Johnson's show.

And Marge has also given me an appreciation for Jackie Chan.

And then, there's the Pink Panther (and Cato).

Marge is the love of my life.

It's amazing how many great comedians were on Mama's Family.
Let's see, Carol Burnett, Vicky Lawrence, Harvey Korman, Betty White,, Rue McLanahan Ken Berry and Dorothy Lyman. What a cast! What a funny show.
My all time favorite comedy shows are Mama's Family, Golden Girls, Designing Women, The Nanny, and the best, I Love Lucy. I know I'm forgetting so many other greats.
