i guess i can't feel anything for that because i figure to eat we have to kill. i don't know a very humane way to kill a chicken that wouldn't be upsetting to anyone in peta because it's still killing an animal for human consumption.

i ask myself when i see things like this, if i had the choice to kill an animal for food with only a rock to feed my starving family, what would i care about most? feeding my family or the inhumane way i was given to kill the animal that would feed them.

i can't stop eating at places just because they practice things that is considered unacceptable because i would have to stop doing a lot of things. the only thing that i can do is not think about it and get on with my life.

i'm sure mcdonalds won't stop and places that say they will or have stopped are most likely lying. we just have to keep moving and worry about more important things in life.

it doesn't mean i'm not caring, i just don't care about things like that because they aren't as important to me as they used to be.

lol i remember when i learned how they cook lobsters haha i asked my mom why they always have live lobsters at grocery stores and she cringed and told me what they do with them and i cried so bad. i was like 12 ... and i begged her to buy them and set them free sadly that was not possible.

i've pretty much lost my devout love for animals like i used to have since having my kids and dealing with what i deal with. perhaps that makes me cruel and not deserving of the pets i have, but it's just the way i am now. i guess if no one here can understand that it's just who i am and see it as awful then that's a problem that i can live with.

first of all ... if you would read the link ... peta has given a humane way of slaughter that they are ok with and that is indeed more humane. so your first point is totally mute.

second, the senario of having to kill for food or not feed your kids ... totally outrageous!! you are NOT being faced with that choice, you arnet stranged in the australian outback or african savannah, or a deserted island !!

if i was in one of those situations where all i could do for food was to kill a pig and eat it ... id do it without thinking twice. and im not allowed even to touch a pig, EXCEPT in that circumstance.

but chances are i could find something else to eat that would actually be more beneficial and safer but thats beside the point.

we arent stranded somehwere starving to death, we live in america with a ridiculous abundance of food and choices.

is a wendys nugget that much harder to buy than a mcdonalds one LMAO by the way wendys does use the human way of slaughter that peta is asking mcdonalds to use, as does chic fil a.

and lets not get all up in deshanna's face... she is one of millions who feel this way so dont get shocked. Being rude and abrassive with someone isnt the way to sway them.

just to let everyone in on my personal situation...my children and i have been without food and starving here with nothing but a can of beans for them to eat. so i have been in the situation where if i had a live creature to feed them i would have killed it anyway i could to feed them. and this is in america where families like mine are starving.

I admire your honesty. Sometimes I am careful what I post here beacause I do not what to get flamed. I don't totally understand your position - but that is your position and you are entiled to it.

I have probably too much empathy for animals - but I have come to the conclusion that I can't save them all. As for the chickens - they are raised for food. I have had pet chickens and would never consider eating them. Although I did eat their fertile eggs. So where do you draw the line.

ok lets see if i can break this down.

you can go to mcd's and buy a 5 piece nugget for $1.39, it is slaughtered in a horrdi ihnumane way and fried in a oil that has transfats also it has no seasonings on it at all, its just the breading, oil and chicken.

or you can go to wendy's buy a 5 piece chicken nugget, cookied in non transfat oils, humanely slaughtered, and seasoned all for 99 cents !!!!

i mean to me ... that is not a hard decision.

there is no need for some life altering, moral, ethical life change to be made !!!!!!

and you save money !!

and during that time when we had no food, my neighbor who raises chickens actually gave me one that i had to kill to feed my children. so maybe that was wrong, but i HAVE been in that place.
