DO not feed the trolls.
If you think that someone is just playing games with the forum, then ignore them and click on notify.
Depending upon what is happening, I may ban or watch.
As that article says, sometimes people may be mistaken, simply because they do not understand, or agree with, the way the new member is posting.
If people respond by making a huge fuss, then it becomes very difficult to monitor the situation and, indeed, the behaviour of the older members can become almost as bad as troll behaviour in itself.
Just wanted to add that you can also choose to completely ignore the person and all their posts by using the
Ignore Feature .
To do that just click on the users name and view their profile. Then you will see this...

Ignore this user | Add to Watched Users | Show User's Posts
....click
Ignore this user.
This way you wont have to see their posts or read their pm's anymore. You wont be irritated by their behavior, posts,
games any longer since you won't be able to see them.
Ohh, didnt know there was a post about it until I looked around for it but here is a thread about that Ignore Feature. It does come in handy when needed.
