No I wouldn't be ok with it! I'd argue with him and if that didn't work I'd just laugh at his stupid opinions. Racists aren't worth my time. I just don't think that the government should get involved.

I'd be ok with it, although I might be concerned with their safety. This girl was not going to harm anyone, obviously. She was just brainwashed.

Hm, it depends on how old they are. if they were a high schooler or a late middle schooler I might, but I'd argue against them, don't get me wrong. But I think that in high school they can form their own intelligent opinions. PS - Have you seen the movie American History X? Relevant, and VERY good! I had some problems with the acting at some points (even though that actor was nominated for an emmy for that film), but overall it was great!

isn't it funny - a girl of 10 wears an anti muslim t-shirt and there is actually a discussion about the rights and wrongs of it? she obviously wasn't uttering her own opinion, but that of her ignorant, contemptible parents.

funny contrast - i like to wear t-shirts which push buttons. of my own free will i must add. one of my favourites is an american flag with the stars re-arranged into a swastika. the fact that i use a clockwise swastika is of course lost on most people. for that print i've been hassled by the police, lectured by self righteous americans and told i deserve to die on the front line in afghanistan. which, if you think anything like i do is bloody hilarious.

as far as i can see its a perfectly reasonable commentary on americas foreign policy of the past few decades. a few people get the joke, but disapproval is fairly universal. i wonder if it had been as universal if i was having a poke at the taliban. probably not.

the trouble is people in the west are brainwashed by the news to such an extent that in simple terms its ok to hate muslims but you have to support 'our boys' fighting the war on terror. thankfully some of us can see through the facade the west winges about a few dozen casualties while the middle east is burying hundreds of thousands.

i was stopped in the street the other day by someon collecting for war heros. when i asked who the heros were, i was told the were vets from iraq and afghanistan. the guy did not appreciate it when i asked if i could give money to the children of iraq, or the families of fallen taliban. ultimately its ok for us to blindly hate muslims but its not ok to point out that opur soldier are not heros, they're a bunch of murderers.

To call our military murderers is not only wrong but ignorant. They fight that we may not have to. They fight to protect our rights and our freedom. They are under orders just as I suppose you are under someones authority.

I agree that we should not be in Iraq and I certainly take no pleasure in the deaths of innocents, but that has been the norm for every war, not just Iraq. I did not agree with Vietnam either but my husband fought in that war and I can assure you he took no pleasure in deaths. Infact, he is very happy that he never had to engage in one-on-one combat with anyone personally causing a death. However, he was in the infantry and I am sure his mortars may have caused the deaths of enemy soldiers. My father was a soldier as well in WWII. Have you ever been in the military janimal? If yes, I commend you. If no, then you have no right to speak ill against those who protect us. They are heroes...whether we or even they like what they are doing is irrelevant. Every country has an army to protect them. Are all military persons murderers or just the Americans? What about the radicals who invaded the World Trade Center....are they heroes in your eyes? What do you call them? They had no allegiance to any particular country....just a very hateful, distorted view of the world. But if you haven't served, then you know very little of what it means to put your life on the line for someone else.

I think that is the difference here, if you where that T-shirt you are well aware of what you may be inviting, as an adult, it is provocative, whether or not it gets to people's minds to be thought provoking is questionable. But you know what you are wearing and chose it.

I don't think these girls went out and ordered these T-shirts of their own volition, the only question it provokes, is what is wrong with their parents?
