My baby girl is gone. My feisty little perfect lettuce devouring princess passed in her daddy's hands. I got a phone call and didn't make it home in time. I've never dealt with death before. I never got to say goodbye.

I'm so sorry to hear about your baby girl.Dealing with the loss of a pet is so very hard whether it be the first loss or the 50th. It doesn't get any easier, but that first experience...well I don't even know what to say. My heart goes out to you.
Even tho you couldn't be there for her at the time,at least she wasn't alone. I know it's hard, you didn't get to say good bye,I've been there myself. But you have to remember the good times and know that she loved you and she knew you loved her in return. You took her in and gave her a loving home when she needed it the most.(((HUGS))) to you gustafson. Sonya will be forever in your heart.

She will not only be in my heart, but she will be a part of me. I have a cross tattooed on my back, and I plan to get wings added. Her wings will be my wings.

gus, i am soo sorry. like br, you must be hurting soo badly. my heart is breaking for you both. first time is horrid as are any others. people who have loving, giving hearts will never get used to it. any death is like the first, they are all a loss of something special. think of all the good stuff. your little baby wouldn't want you to be sad. same with you br. your keets love you and would not want to see you hurting. it is hard to go on but ...
you will. remember all the fun, wonderful times, that will be a huge help to your hearts.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I hate to say it, but after losing my Boo almost a year ago, this is the reason I can't get another bird. Most people get another bird after one passes, I still can't bring myself to get one even though I love birds. I am now too fearful of another freak accident. I can't go through it again.
