Possibly your mood in general on this particular day. Or birdie could have heard someone yelling or argueing etc? I wish we could know for sure what is in their little minds!

He probably had a little night fright.Do you leave a nite lite on so he's not in total darkness? And leave part of the front of his cage uncovered. At least it helps mine smile
Also try not to get discouraged if he seems kind of trusting one day and might even step up..at least 1 foot LOL And then the next day he scurries away to the back of the cage. It happens. One step forward 2 steps back. But be patient and still talk to him like you do.He'll come around again smile
Here's a link to another thread about pellets that might help..and somewhere in there there is also another link to more switching to pellets info http://www.wineintro.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=386428&page=3

Millet is supposed to be more of a treat than a daily staple. But if you don't give too much at a time I think it's ok to give more than once a month.
I know it's probably not the best thing, but I actually give each of mine about a 1/2 inch piece(depending on how fat the millet spray is) every night as a night night treat. They've come to expect it and even tho I don't give them alot they love it smile
Geesh it took Levi months to even TRY millet! LOL They don't seem to be getting fat.

LOL Millet Monster!!!

I don't think it matters what color the cover is. Just cover and uncover slowly and tell him what you're doing as you're doing it.

Music is great! They love music. And after a while you will get to know what kind of music they like best by the way they react to it. Chirping along nicely..or aaack aaack I hate that!!! LOL
It's good to leave music or tv on for them when you're not home with them. smile
