You took it in. It was your responsibility nobody forced you to buy it. You could have at least taken it to the animal shelter. And yes I know its not your child but children scream louder than birds. So if you got tired would you throw out your child too cause it was too loud. Once an animal is imprinted on humans it will not survive in the wils plus the bird was in a cage so yeah it would not be able to find food or water. As I said before you should not own pets.

Animal cruelty is against the law. Leaving a domestic bird outside to die is considered animal cruelty. I hope you go to jail.
