Thank you for your kind words Huey.
Actually, my Merlin was my doggie. He was born into my hands on July 11, 1990. His mother was my Fancy girl, a silky terrior. I had turned my back for just seconds, and there they were, a little white poodle from another neighborhood, and Fancy! So he was a Silky-Poo, way before they were designer dogs! But he was such a loyal and loving doggie. And a very good boy. After his mama died, it was just me and him for a lot of years. I didn't have any other pets for a long time.
He WAS old. He just kept bouncing back and bouncing back till he couldn't any more. And I couldn't let him be in pain and miserable. He meant too much to me to let that happen. I just never expected it to be so fast!
I know I did the right thing, but it's going to take me a long time to get over it. I will never forget him.
