Bella my parakeet is doing very well! she jumps right up onto my hand on command in her cage and is starting to chirp A LOT more! She is also starting to become more interested in investigating the rest of her room. she will hop out of her cage and "fly" to the ground(her flight feathers haven't grown back yet)and run around. the problem is is although she will get on my finger/hand in her cage, she is afraid of it outside her cage and wont get on to it. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on what to do to make her more comfortable with getting on to my hand outside her cage or if it is just something that will take time. Thanks!

when she is outside work with a perch an as you lift her onto the perch keep her view of the cage blocked.

ok ill try that.thanks! and then do i just slowly start introducing my hand instead of the perch while still blocking the view of the cage?

the perch will be a extension of your hand in the birds mind just after a few times DONT RUSH make the perch shorter in length..till soon you wont need the perch..by sliding your hand down the perch it becomes closer to your hand..soon it will be your hand but for now ..block with your body his view of the cage while doing this
