We have, on our lounge wall, a couple of prints of places we have visited, an old picture that used to hang on my late grandmother's wall and painting by my uncle, who is a relatively well-known artist.
We have another of his paintings, plus some works by my other uncle, yet to be hung, and there are also some pictures by my Mum, and some others from places we have visited, so our pictures are all personal to us, in some way or other.

I've created collages of places we've gone as well - pictures we've taken together. For example, we have a collage of when we lived up in Washington, DC and walked around the Tidal Basin when all the cherry blossoms had bloomed. We also have a collage of our honeymoon in Punta Cana hanging up in a place that brings out all the gorgeous blues, greens, pinks, yellows, etc.
We've got pictures sitting all around our house (not necessarily hanging) of us as well - from the years we were dating, from our wedding, after our wedding, etc.
Another thing we've got that I absolutely love is four German pewter carvings - one for each of the seasons - that we bought on our trip to Europe back in April 2009. Along with those items from Germany, we also have several German Beer Steins and German Smokers (Santa's, Beer Garden guys, etc.).
