No, Illusive. I've never heard of Orzo...can you buy it at a grocery store?

Okay...I'll look around for it. I'm having a hard time finding that petamine at the major pet stores. Looks like I might have to break down and pay that shipping cost. Daggum! It'll be okay though.

Suuure, duck and run illusive! LOL
My 2 love orzo..thanks to illusive.
I had never even heard of Orzo before she came along. I must admit it was a big hit, but will also say when they fling it around the cage those little suckers stick like glue! LOL
They like it with finely chopped carrots, sometimes some snow peas or green beans or whatever I happen to have...and they prefer their carrots raw/chopped, won't eat them cooked.
Sweet potatoes I microwave for 40-50 secs or so. Brings out sweetness but remains crisp..yes peel and chop.

Merry, Levi n Zig like couscous too..again with chopped veggies, same with cooked whole grain brown rice. I THINK the rice is their fav cooked food.
Yep, Kimberly your husband is going to LOVE hearing you have to cook for Cheeko. And you will never live it down..I haven't. Just wait til ya tell him you're making Birdy bread or corn muffins!
**A couple more off the top of my head that should be limited are corn and peas.
Yahoooooo on the broccoli!!! Go Cheeko!!! I don't think it would hurt to give him more tomorrow. He probably didn't eat all that much and it might be good to let him have another go of it to get used to it.
If you have easy access to beet greens go for it! They can eat the beets too BTW not just the greens. My pick wicks won't eat the beets tho..just the greens. HA! Picturin Cheeko with nice juicy red beets all over his face! Picture THAT on a Kodak! hahaha

While I'm thinking about it, Jeffie has also discovered fruit via the kid's breakfast plates. She loves crunchy peeled apple & the membrane from navel oranges.

I'm guessing that fruit consumption should be limited for budgies since it is naturally sugary. Anybody want to weigh in on acceptable frequency for this snack?

Jeffie is now allowed to join us at the table at selected times, & it is a battle to keep her from stealing foods from the kids! However, the same food can remain untouched in her fancy new dish in her cage. Go figure!

LOL Merry! I could just see Cheeko stealing from the kids. I can hear them giggling and Cheeko chirping. Great mental picture. Like you said kksuns...I will be super excited, doing a crazy happy dance if Cheeko gets red beets all over his face because that would mean he was eating them. YAH! Gonna have to make a birdie/grocery list. ROFL

Illusive, this is gonna make you go "grrrr!" again. But I'm doing another happy dance. Cheeko ate boiled carrots today! Well, he tried them at least. Started opening his cage again today.
