Duh, sorry. No broken wing, just a flight feather. That was bad enough. And then of course Pips decided to at this time moult and lose one side of hers. Silly babies.

I had the same question a short time ago regarding Timmy. All of our other budgies (4 of them) had clipped wings when we got them. I made macramé natural jute rope ladders them went from their cages to the floor so when they were out of their cages they had the freedom to return without our help. Here are a couple of videos of them climbing their ladders the day the learned how to do it.
Dickie and Ogie

We decided to let Dickie’s and Denny’s wings grow back in. We would get them out of their cages and bring them across the room lightly holding them in our hands. We would open our hands a few inches from the ground and let them take off. Denny was very strong from the get-go and would make it back to his cage with no problem. Dickie was a little butterball, and it took him a few tries before he could make it all the way back. We would do this a few times a week to help exercise their wings. They then realized that they could fly and enjoyed their newly found freedom. We would open their cages and they would decide to fly around when they wanted (or not). They developed their own little flight patterns. We enjoyed watching them do what is supposed to come naturally.
Timmy will not have to go through this as we are not going to clip him.
I hope you enjoy the videos.
