So I recently bought the perches online from petco that Illusive recommended. I have it on an incline so that he can use it to trim his beak. His beak seems to be getting long very quickly. Do birds automatically know that this kind of perch is to help them trim their beak? What do birds in the wild use? And any advice on how to get him to use it?

I think he'll just do it on his own Kim. And he'll probably use it for scratching/rubbing his head on when it's itchy too.
In the wild they use tree branches or even rocks.

Cheeko has discovered what the cement perch is for. I caught him rubbing his beak back and forth across it.

And Cheeko seems to like hard boiled eggs. I used about half an egg with egg shells. I put it in his regular dish with just a few seeds sprinkled on top. As soon as he discovered it, he was chomping away. He must have gotten some stuck on his beak and used the cement perch again to wipe it off. This was a separate time from before. It was so cute. Priceless!

I am going to get a few of these for my cages. I have cuttle bones but they do not touch them.
